There are many things on that site that seem like you must know the address rather than finding a link.
Eg, edit your account settings? Increase your registration limit? Register your software? Maybe these do in fact have links somewhere, but I sure can't find them. Nor do I. However, the registration application does point to itright? How, exactly, would that help if one is installing it on machine 'A' (not internet connected), and wants to go to the website and register the program from machine 'B' (which is internet connected)? Anything that you folks do to make it MORE difficult for me to use the product is something that you'd better make DARNED sure has beneficial offsets. There are several products that I use, on a fairly regular basis, where I haven't upgraded because of the difficulty that the vendor imposes with software activation (Adobe comes to mind immediately). I have bought/paid for the product, don't use it on anyone's machine but my own, but I have to pay the price for YOUR perceived problems with 'pirates'. And since you seem content to make a jibe at me , any progress on posting that escrow policy regarding software activation???

You also pay extra at retail to accomodate shoplifting, and in the produce isle to cover spoilage. I'm no bigger a fan of activation schemes than you are, but software is hardly distinct in having customers pay more as a result of 'inefficiencies' in the distribution system. Sometimes it's in dollars, sometimes in inconvenience, but it's all a part of cost. BobD Nick Hodges (CodeGear) 5/11/2007, 10:02 น. 'Ivo Bauer' wrote in message news:[email protected].

There is one problem though - I can't seem to find a way how to obtain a registration code that the web page asks for. From what I have read on that page, the registration code should be mentioned somewhere in the registration wizard window, but either I'm blind or there is not one. The registration wizard for previous IDE versions (D7, D2005, BDS2006) used to show the registration code in there, but it's not the case with RAD Studio 2007.
Could you please advise me how do I obtain one? I hope you can see this message as I had a hard drive crash yesterday and am accessing the newsgroup via web interface (HDD has a couple of bad blocks but it's still spinning, so I reinstalled the Windows and waiting for a new one to arrive.:-) Best regards, Ivo Nick Hodges (CodeGear) 6/11/2007, 10:10 น. 'Nick Hodges (CodeGear)' wrote: Ivo Bauer wrote: I can't seem to find a way how to obtain a registration code that the web page asks for It's the one that came with your product: your registration key. Nick, I have the impression that we are talking about different things. Please let me recap my intentions: The product registration web page asks me to supply two things: (i) serial number, and (ii) registration code. The serial number is what came with my product (actually I'm on Studio type SA and received unserialized media kit for the RAD Studio upon my request, hence I'm using serial number I obtained through CodeGear maintenance portal).
The registration code, on the other hand, is the second thing I need to specify on the product registration web page, but I don't know how to determine what it actually is. As I said, it used to be mentioned in the earlier versions of product registration wizard, but it's, for a reason unknown to me, hidden in the RAD Studio 2007 registration wizard. So, please let me repeat my question: Where do I obtain the registration code for my RAD Studio 2007? In the earlier versions, it used to be generated randomly - on each installation it had a different value - AFAICS. Thank you very much in advance!

Ivo Ivo Bauer 6/11/2007, 12:25 น. I have been watching this tread since I too, work on a computer that is not connected to the internet. My work is with classified data, that is why the CPU cannot be online. I am still working with the support folks to register my software. The first activation file they sent me did not work, so it's on to round two. Bob Whitaker Ivo Bauer wrote: HiThe new registration wizard in RAD Studio 2007 offers only two registration options so far. I don't want to register online. How do I obtain an activation file in order to register my copy of RAD Studio 2007?
Thanks in advance! Ivo Bauer, 12:24 น. Nick Hodges (CodeGear) napsal(a): Send me your key. We should be able to create a reg file for you. I've just sent my serial number via email over to you.
Kindly waiting for an activation file. One more thing: Although I greatly appreciate your personal involvement in this case, for the future I would rather be able to request an activation file directly via registration wizard. From your response I get an impression that this feature is no longer available in the registration wizard, which is rather unfortunate.:-( Thanks! - Ivo Bauer Ivo Bauer, 15:01 น.
Delphi 2007 has been released. Please review the information below and also the attached readme and installation notes file, whichare also included with the product.
The default installation location for Delphi 2007 is C: Program Files CodeGear RAD Studio 5.0. Therefore there is no danger of overwriting the installation of any previous version of Borland Developer Studio or Delphi. We would expect that you can run older versions of BDS and Delphi after having installed Delphi 2007. Even though Delphi 2007 targets native Win32 binaries only, the IDE still has dependencies on.NET components such as the.NET Framework 2.0,.NET Framework SDK 2.0 and Visual J# 2.0. It also requires MSXML.These will be installed automatically if not present on the system. Serial Number. The new installation program prompts for a serial number.
Please ensure that you have this ready when starting the installation. Backward Compatibility Delphi 2007 is backwardly compatible with all previous versions of Delphi. We would expect that projects created with previous versions of BDS and Delphi will work fine in Delphi 2007. If you use components supplied by a third party, please check with the supplier of these components for any known compatibility issues.
Windows Vista Delphi 2007 features new functionality to target the Windows Vista Operating System. If you are planning to install Delphi 2007 on Windows Vista itself, please observe the following points:. In Windows Vista, you must run the installer while logged on either as Administrator or as a user with administrative privileges. That is, changes to the Program Files directory require elevated security. The registration client occasionally fails on Windows Vista.
To work around this problem, select Allow this program when the Windows Live OneCare Firewall appears, then exit and restart registration. Do not select Block this program, because doing so will prevent you from registering afterward. Windows Vista does not support the legacy WinHelp help viewer (WinHelp.exe). If you want to use.HLP files, see the Microsoft website ( ). If you use any of the CommonAVI's provided by the TAnimate component in Windows Vista, you must also add the component TShellResources from the Win32 tab of the component palette to your project.
Windows Vista no longer contains backwards compatible shell animations, and the TShellResources component adds the following replacement animation resources to your executable: FindFolder.res FindFile.res FindComputer.res CopyFiles.res CopyFile.res RecycleFile.res EmptyRecycle.res DeleteFile.res. If you are using BDE on Windows Vista, you will need to reconfigure BDE so that it does not attempt to write files to the C: directory. To do this, log on as an administrator and run BDEAdmin.exe, located at Program Files Common Files Borland Shared BDE. Under Native, click PARADOX, and change NET DIR to point to a location other than the root directory. A suggested target is C: Users Public Documents RAD STUDIO. If you rebuild an existing VCL application that uses the TOpenDialog or TSaveDialog components, or the MessageDlg functions, and run it under Windows Vista, it uses Vista file and task dialogs rather than traditional open, save, and message dialogs. If this is not desired, set the global variable UseLatestCommonDialogs to False at the beginning of a program to force the original behavior.
Rad Studio 2007
To run and debug VCL for the Web (IntraWeb) applications, you should use Windows 2003 or Windows XP. If you are using Windows Vista, you must turn off User Access Control (UAC) when debugging VCL for the Web applications. For more information about IntraWeb, see. On Vista with UAC enabled, if an executable's file name includes 'setup', 'update', or 'install', you cannot debug the program unless the IDE is started under the System Administrator account. Trying to run executable files that include these strings outside of the IDE triggers a 'User Account Control' dialog requesting the password for the System Administrator account. Running within the IDE without debugging raises an error indicating the program requires privilege elevation. Running within the IDE with debugging raises a process creation error.
For more information, see. Other If you upgraded from Borland Developer Studio, you can continue to use that license as well as long as you are the only user.
